About Me

Sarah StillmanArt and Design have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Designing wallpapers and fabrics when I was younger, silk painting and canvas paintings more recently.

I studied Textiles at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and left with a Diploma in Art and Design; becoming a Licentiate member of the Society of Designers Craftsman Chelsea, London.

It was during a period of convalescence three years ago that resulted in my going in a new artistic direction producing a unique giftware range.

Having been diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome and having open heart surgery I was advised to rest and take it easy for at least six weeks.

Not one to sit down and do nothing, I designed cards featuring my favourite flowers which I sent to my friends and family.

They produced such a favourable reaction that I investigated making my hand-made cards on a larger scale.

I am forever grateful to my friend and graphic designer Fiona, who has encouraged me with my work and has spent many hours helping me to develop the Sarah Stillman Collection.

Within a year I had set up my own business producing a kitchen and giftware range. I spent my weekends at local craft fairs continuing to build up my company.

In addition to the greeting cards, there are now tablemats, coasters, worktop savers, cheese-chopping boards, mini garlic/lemon chopping boards, glass clocks, round glass mats, giclee prints and many more products coming soon.

Brilliant red poppies, dramatic sunflowers and vibrant pansies are just a few of the flowers which I use. The designs are bold with a Mediterranean feel and reflect my love of nature and plants in particular.

Some of the products featured in my collection are different from everyday kitchen and tableware items such as the mini chopping boards for garlic and the round glass table mats/serving platters.

I have given names to all of the products in my collection. Many of these are friends and family, who have supported me through difficult times.

I am continuing to add more designs and products to the Sarah Stillman Collection so please join us on facebook for future updates.

I hope that you like my collection.
